Affluent Segment in Europe 2011

The third annual Efma–Finalta Affluent Segment in Europe Report is now available. The report examines the varied success with which European banks have acquired new affluent customers. Whilst most banks have failed to recruit very many, some of the smaller and more nimble “challenger” banks have achieved growth rates of 15% per year or more. Meanwhile, many banks have yet to define a consistently applied upgrade process or a strategy for attracting “emerging” affluent customers.

This joint research with Efma complements Finalta's in-depth benchmarking and best practice work. It draws from the findings from some of Finalta's affluent benchmarking engagements with over 50 European banks to provide additional insight.

The report is divided into three main sections:

  1. Providing industry benchmarks for growth in 2010;
  2. Examining the growth strategies employed by European banks; and
  3. Summarising Finalta's views on best practices in implementation.

Over 80 respondents from 32 countries participated in the 2010 survey. Respondents were typically Affluent Segment Heads or equivalent.

This report provides you with key industry benchmarks in the affluent segment, an investigation of current capabilities and examples of market best practice.
